We arrived in Marmaris Marina on May 7 after a very long and arduous journey through the Red Sea.  Marmaris is located just on the border where the Mediterranean coastline reaches the Aegean. We were excited to see greenery again and surprised at the mountainous landscape that seemed to just plunder straight into the crystal clear water.

We hopped on a bus to Istanbul to meet Chris, our son, who came for a visit. We spent 4 days in Istanbul and saw all the sights of the magical city with its charming narrow cobblestone alleyways twisting through the district crammed with restaurants and shops. We stayed in Sultanahmet, the heart of all the major attractions including the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia Church, the Hippodrome, the Grand Palace and the Bosphorous River.

I am currently compiling my Turkey journals so here are some photos of our land tour to keep you entertained while I work away on my updates. There are 165 photos so you may need to be patient while some load.

Check back often as I am dedicating the next month to getting caught up on our travels!
